Conservation work for Zanzibars UNESCO world heritage listed Beit al-Sahel building. The project focus lies on stabilizing the existing structure, which has received multiple layers of damage from groundwater, rain, and moisture. A sensible climate design concept enables cross ventilation and stack ventilation to improve comfortability and reduce risks of future damage to interiors and structures.

The Sisters of the Holy Redeemer (Shirika ya Masista wa Mkombozi), a Tanzanian religious order with strong links to German catholic church, is active in Mtwara region and in Chamazi, south of Dar es Salaam. APC developed a site master plan consisting of a primary school, secondary school, student and teachers housing and a dispensary. The primary school buildings were the first to be completed. The previously built nursery school and the convent building are integrated into the project.

Burtinle District Hospital lies at the outskirts of Burtinle Town, in the dry arid Somali-Ethiopian border zone.
The project proposal combines simple and resilient plans with innovative ventilation and cooling concepts through wind towers and and an underground adiabatic cooling system. An extensive water harvesting arrangement using “berkhad” reservoirs ensures independence from the municipal borehole.

“Mangi Meli Remains” is a mobile exhibition tracing the history of Chief Meli, who fought the German colonial occupation of territory in Kilimanjaro and was executed as a result in 1900. The exhibition and debate platform is made completely or ready-mades, all of which will be used for other purposes after the decommisioning of the pavillion. It was erected at four different sites in Kilimanjaro region over a period of 6 weeks. It displayed historic artefacts and reserach but also was used to stage discussions, artist workshops and other activities with the public.
